YouTube Clips

 

In this month's edition of Tech Tips, you'll learn how to share specific snippets of content from your favorite YouTube videos.

 

Option 1 - YouTube Clips

For sharing a 5-to-60-second segment from a longer video, use the new "Clip" feature on YouTube. Tap below to watch a 29-second video demonstration.

Option 2 - Share at a Specific Start Time

Say you want to show the last 5 minutes of a 30 minute video. Instead of using Clips, share the video at your desired start time. To do so, head to YouTube.com and:

  1. Open and pause the video at to your desired start time
  2. Tap the "→ SHARE" button
  3. Mark the "Start at" box on the bottom left of the pop up
  4. Copy the unique link

Now What?

Use either of these features to ensure that your audience stays focused on your intended content.

  1. Teachers can share with their students a direct link to content
  2. Students can save clips from their favorite video to watch again later
  3. Admin can bookmark specific locations within longer videos for use at a future PD
