Hi everyone! In this final tech tip of the 2021-2022 school year, you'll learn how to let people make copies of your Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, or Drawings files with a single click.
Directions
When you're ready to let people start making copies of your Google file...
Ensure the file is shared with the appropriate audience
- only certain people vs. mamkschools.org vs. "anyone with the link"
In the address bar, replace the word "edit" or "view" with the word "copy"
Highlight and copy this new link
Don't worry if text appears after "edit" or "view"—still just replace it with "copy".
Now What?
Now, you can quickly and easily share templates with your colleagues and students. Some examples include:
Clerical staff can share a template of the APPR Goal Setting Form via Google Docs
Teachers can share a template lesson with teammates via Google Slides
Administrators can share a template budget via Google Sheets
Quick Note
Once the copy is made, the original template and the copied document are no longer connected. So, any changes made to the template won't be applied to the copy.
